🏢 Open innovation: a new chapter for Italian construction

We would like to recount in more detail our latest participation in the event, “Open Innovation in the Building Supply Chain,” organized by Confindustria Assoimmobiliare in collaboration with Designtech.
Milan, CoFactory Designtech. An exceptional stage hosted the event “Open Innovation in the Building Supply Chain”, organized by Confindustria Assoimmobiliare.
Within the walls of Designtech's urban factory, real estate industry players, innovative startups and visionaries laid out a roadmap for the future of building. Open innovation was at the center of the debate, presenting itself as the key to redesigning an ever-evolving sector.
Designtech, the true star of the evening, with its creative and collaborative atmosphere proved to be the ideal place to host this event. CoFactory provided the backdrop for a series of speeches that highlighted how innovation is transforming the real estate and construction industry and how these processes have given new life to its current structure.
Prominent figures in the industry who made possible the redevelopment of the Certosa District where Designtech is based today took turns on stage, including:
Ivan Tallarico - CEO of Designtech and creator of light manufacturing who passionately explained his vision of manufacturing combined with design.
Stefano Sirolli of RealStep Sicaf, who made the sustainable urban regeneration project possible.
Giovanni de Niederhäusern of Pininfarina, who explained the study and accuracy of interior design.
Andrea Grillenzoni of Garc SpA B.Corp for the construction of the new masonry infrastructure.
Matteo Garbuglia of Aura System for the innovative air purification system.
Barbara Cominelli - Vice President for Innovation and Digitization of Confindustria Assoimmobiliare opened the event and gave us an overview of innovation serving the real estate sector.
Each of them brought their own contributions, offering a comprehensive view of innovation in the built environment: all emphasized the importance of open and inclusive collaboration for the future of more efficient and sustainable construction.
A special focus was devoted to Prop Tech startups. Three innovative realities, including us at Innovation System, presented their technological solutions, demonstrating how innovation is emerging even from small realities.
Our Co-founder Elena Lazar represented us: Elena illustrated our IoT platform OnSystem, a cutting-edge solution to optimize the energy consumption of buildings and to be able to have a centralized management of the entire real estate and plant infrastructure. It is a proposal that fits well in the current context, where sustainability is increasingly in the spotlight.
In concrete terms, it has illustrated to the real estate sector a comprehensive solution for building energy management, enabling them to reduce costs and increase energy efficiency as well as allowing them to easily and intuitively manage the systems serving their property.
OnSystem's IoT platform, thanks to its flexibility and scalability, adapts to the needs of any type of property, such as large apartment buildings, public entities, industrial and commercial spaces, and hotels.
In addition, OnSystem is able to integrate with systems already present in buildings, such as thermal power plants, ventilation systems, photovoltaics, and lighting systems, but it also gives the ability to generate detailed reports through data collection and analysis, allowing you to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions to optimize building management.
Elena also spoke about the installation at Designtech of our new product EnergyGo, a ready-to-use kit for energy monitoring of consumption, for those who want to take a first step toward energy efficiency in facilities and want to reduce consumption.
The event organized by Confindustria Assoimmobiliare confirmed that open innovation is the engine of change in the building sector. CoFactory, with its ability to network different actors, confirms itself as a privileged place for experimentation and development of new solutions. Innovation System is proud to fit into this context, offering a concrete contribution to the Green Transition.
